Just a very basic ideea:
When using somebody else's platform, be it facebook, g+, blogger.com, wordpress.com or let's say ... hmm, Medium, one is basically playing in somebody else's yard. And one can be told to go home at any time.

And a link (of many) about digital sharecropping:

I'm assuming you're familiar with the term "sharecropping".
Also see this as a lesson in online "cropping":

Congrats for the post, but what do you mean by user acquisition strategy? Isn't this part of the marketing itself?

What you're talking about are cross-platform-apps, I'm talking about apps as platforms.

Think about things like sending money or donations through twitter messages, second screen apps based purely on twitter messages, shopping, ad-hoc social interactions... stuff like that.

IMO, we have that already.

Some people like to call it ... Facebook. And it comes with the cross-platform Messages App.

I`ve learned to "love the bomb" and I (almost) completely moved from Y!Messenger to Facebook.

Oh, and it`s as simple as you want it to be. :)

Yes, the team too. Everything is important. :-) Though I must say that I have seen successful startups lacking in one or another of the puzzle pieces. I've seen teams that were not stellar, pitches that were not amazing, as long as they compensated in another area, they seem to be doing reasonably well.

Hopefully you will realize that your team is actually more important than everything else :-) Good luck!
